Berry Group Sdn. Bhd. is one of Malaysia’s most dynamic and innovative online supplementary education providers, serving over 10,000 students nationwide between the ages of 6 and 17, across Primary 1–6 and Secondary Forms 1–5, in three major languages, i.e., English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Chinese.
Founded in 2012 by Mr. Victor Tan, an educator with a passion for teaching since the age of 18, Berry Group began as a humble tuition initiative serving just 200 primary and secondary students. From those beginnings, Berry Group has steadily grown into a structured education platform, powered by 147 full-time and part-time tutors, supported by assistants, delivering academic excellence across Malaysia.
Berry Group’s growth accelerated when it pivoted to online tuition in 2020, transforming challenges of the pandemic into opportunities to reach students nationwide. Today, Berry Group has become a trusted household name, recognized for its measurable outcomes and transformative impact. An impressive
90% of students improve their exam grades by at least one grade within just three months, while 31% achieve a breakthrough improvement of three grades or more in only six months. These results underscore Berry’s commitment to academic excellence and its vital role in bridging education gaps across communities.
In addition to its core tuition programs, Berry Group has expanded its offerings to include UK Diploma Programs for post-SPM students, through collaborations with West Scotland Colleges, OTHM UK, and UTM Space Malaysia, ensuring a global education pathway for young Malaysians.

Berry Group was founded by Mr. Victor Tan, whose passion for teaching began at the age of 18. In 2011, he committed to full-time tuition, and by 2012, he established Berry Group with the mission of making education accessible, affordable, and transformative. What started as a small initiative teaching 200 students has now grown into a nationwide platform impacting over 10,000 learners. Mr. Victor’s journey reflects Berry Group’s DNA: courage, resilience, and the belief that education can change lives.
Today, Berry Group is powered by a network of 147 full-time and part-time tutors, supported by teaching assistants. This nationwide pool of educators brings together subject matter experts, SPM and UASA markers, reference book authors, and experienced school teachers. The diversity of the team ensures that students receive the highest standards of teaching and guidance, tailored to their academic needs.
Berry Group invests heavily in its people, positioning itself as an elevating platform for educators. Teachers are limited to 14 teaching hours per week, supported by assistants who handle student queries, ensuring a balance between quality delivery and work-life sustainability. Professional development is a cornerstone of Berry Group, with structured training, peer learning, and fully sponsored Ministry of Education upskilling programs.
To inspire excellence, Berry Group introduced the Super Teacher framework, a 360-degree evaluation system combining student outcomes, parental reviews, and peer feedback. • All tutors complete a minimum of 15 hours of annual professional training, tracked through verified data from Coursera.com, ensuring they remain equipped with the latest teaching techniques.
• Each quarter, the top 10 % of tutors earn the Super Teacher title — recognised for excellence in student results, classroom engagement, and continuous improvement.
• The Super Teacher program rewards outstanding educators with profit-sharing bonuses and leadership opportunities, ensuring professional dignity and long-term career sustainability.
Beyond tutors, CSR is embedded in the company culture: every staff member dedicates at least 8 hours annually (10 % of KPI) to community service, which may include blood donations, charity runs, food basket drives (Zero Hunger), tree planting, or recycling initiatives.
Through these structured labour and CSR programs, Berry Group directly contributes to SDG 8, creating meaningful employment while nurturing purpose-driven educators.
Greener Learning for a Better Future (SDG 14 & 15)
Berry Group integrates environmental stewardship into its operational DNA through digitalisation and active participation in sustainability programs.
• By operating a fully online tuition model, Berry Group eliminates transportation emissions for its 10,000 students. On average, this avoids ~106 tonnes of CO₂e emissions every week, or approximately 5,500 tonnes annually, equivalent to removing 1,200 passenger cars from the road each year (based on UK DEFRA 2024 and US EPA data).
• The Group collaborates with JCI Entrepreneur Metropolitan’s iGreenWarriors Program, pledging to plant one tree for every 100 students enrolled, translating to 100 trees planted in 2025.
• Berry Group also supports USM’s CEMACS International Coastal Cleanup in Penang, contributing to marine conservation and coastal protection.
• Internally, Berry Group’s 100 % digital learning materials eliminate printing, reduce waste, and promote green learning practices that align with our carbon-reduction goals.

2020 – COLLABORATION WITH DIGI
The company consists of three studios that produce educational videos for Myet Education Sdn Bdh ( all videos can be found on the website https://www.jomtuisyen.com/). We had more than 20000 videos varying from primary year 1 to form 5 all subjects following the national syllabus for Digi Apps, which serve 41.3 million Digi Users in Malaysia. Berry Good Tuition Class continues to partner with other production companies across a wide range of genres.
